Vail Dance Festival 2022

I spent part of the summer of 2022 in beautiful Vail, Colorado, where I had the opportunity to help shape the new Rehearsal/Venue Manager position at Vail Dance Festival. This position was created to help foster and support the festival’s rapid and continued growth, and helped further connect the artists, technicians, and upper administration. Similar to a stage management position, I oversaw all operations of and rehearsals in the Golden Peak Tents - two full dance studios in giant tents at the base of one of Vail’s mountains - while my counterpart did the same at the other main rehearsal site, the Vail Mountain School. This allowed the stage management team to focus on teching that night’s performance, and we were able to help them anticipate changes by keeping the team informed of any and all adjustments - which happened quite a lot in this busy festival! While originally an experiment, the position ended up being extremely well-received by all personnel, and we are looking forward to returning in 2023!
